Deneau has exhibited her work in many group shows as well as recently opening her eighth solo show. Her paintings can be found in several collections including: Mack Avenue Records, Ernst & Young, Gretchen Valade, University of Michigan, IAC Automotive, and Visteon Corporation.

After the devastating murder of her father and near death of her mother, Darcel Deneau pursued her passion for painting by completing her BFA from the College for Creative Studies in 2002. A native Detroiter, Deneau painted many images of the city as a way of coping with her loss and connecting to childhood memories of her father. She has developed a reputation for her Detroit urban landscape paintings and was commissioned for the poster artwork for the 28th Detroit International Jazz Festival. Deneau recently shifted her focus to the ‘Insignificant Series’ exposing repressed emotions through unplanned images. This transition represents a step in her healing process by allowing her to react to these subconscious messages. Each painting in this series expresses feelings of resentment over the lack of consideration for this unsolved crime committed over a decade ago.
